About Heritage Farms
Our Story
Founded in 1952 by the Hennessey family on 80 acres in Essex County, Heritage Farms Canada started with a small herd of Holstein cows and a vision: to feed our neighbours with food we'd be proud to put on our own table.
More than seventy years later, that vision still guides us. The farm now spans over 1,200 acres of field crops, orchards, greenhouses, dairy barns, and livestock facilities โ but it's still run by the same family, with the same standards.
What We Stand For
We do what we say. From the soil we steward to the people we hire, integrity guides every decision on the farm.
We use cover cropping, rotational grazing, and modern efficiency to leave the land better than we found it.
From local schools to food banks to the families who work alongside us โ Heritage Farms is part of something bigger.
By the Numbers
Our Practices
Healthy soil is the foundation of everything we grow. Through crop rotation, cover crops, and careful nutrient management, we keep our land productive for the next generation.
Our livestock are housed in clean, comfortable facilities with access to fresh air and pasture. Healthy animals make better products โ and it's simply the right way to farm.
We supply Ontario grocers, restaurants, and food service partners with traceable, locally grown food โ typically harvested within 48 hours of reaching the shelf.
Modern greenhouses let us grow Ontario-fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers even in the depths of winter, supporting jobs and local food security year-round.
